Our Story Through the Years
The story of Sign Age – Brisbane Sign Factory traces back to 1917, when George Cox began hand-painting signs with craftsmanship that soon earned a reputation across Brisbane. His son continued the legacy, establishing George Cox & Son — a family business built on integrity, quality, and artistry.
In 1974, the next generation expanded into Neil Cox & Co Signwriting, introducing gold leaf, airbrushing, and truck signwriting techniques. Through the late 1990s and early 2000s, the business evolved into Neil Cox & Co Signs, embracing modern materials and technology while preserving the heart of traditional signwriting.
By 2006, Sign Age was born — a brand that combined the old-world artistry of signwriting with the innovation of modern digital design. In 2023, the business entered a new era as Sign Age Brisbane Sign Factory — proudly continuing the family tradition as fourth-generation sign writers.
Each logo over the years tells part of that story — a timeline of growth, evolution, and an enduring commitment to excellence that spans more than 100 years.
